Re: Gatwick north parking
Oh mate it was a nightmare! Lived abroad for a while, home territory for me is Thurrock so to visit my parents we have to drive M40, M25 north, not too bad usually until potters bar, but coming the other way was a nightmare - of course an accident, maybe two, it was moving though - maybe 10mph from Gatwick to M40 - almost came off on the M4 but was tricked by 2 mins moving at 60 and thought it would be clear now....wrong. To be honest though, both kids and the missus pretty much slept for the majority of the time though so I was quite content listening to what I wanted to listen too and enjoying the quiet!

Have used APH loads of times and never had any problems.Only ten minutes from the airport on the shuttle bus from they’re compound.Prices are cheaper the earlier you book.

Where did the extra 2.5 hours come from?

Must have a been a smash up on the M25 to do that.

The worst bit is always the A3 to M4 in either direction, but unless something else is in play, you are normally theough it in 30 mins.

Sorry - an extra £30-£40 for a hotel & parking for a week

Live in the Cotswolds too funnily enough and flew from Gatwick to visit the in-laws a few weeks back. APH was fantastic from start to finish, couldn’t recommend highly enough - you’d be silly to do anything else unless it’s cheaper to park within walking distance.

The M25 is your concern - depending on flight time of course. Outbound we had a 10am flight so left the house at 5am and were there for 7am (driving from near Cheltenham - we have two boys 1&3 so need to have plenty of time) Coming back we landed at 10am on a Friday and it took me 4.5hrs! Luck of the draw of course but if your flight is at a tricky time could be worth paying a little extra and getting an airport hotel with shuttle. I think it was only an e tea

Re: SPLATWICK.
Just leave it at the side of the runway with the hazard lights on

Re: SPLATWICK.
Avoid valet parking unless you want your car to be used for high speed joy riding by some oik, and then parked in a random field nearby.

APH always served me well.

I usually find Looking4Parking to be cheapest - there are regularly "30% off" vouchers to be found.

SPLATWICK.
It’s normally about 50 quid , purple parking is usually the cheapest.

Depending on the time of your flight it may be worth looking at a B&B with parking thrown in , that’s usually 80-90 .

Look up Excalibur close , parked there a few times but it’s a cab from there to the airport.

Personally i would suffer the parking fees.
